About Father Charlie's ACA Classic
About Father Charlie's ACA Classic > Outreach Programs
In the beginning… Annunciation Catholic Academy (ACA) opened its doors to students in grades K - 8 on September 1, 1996. In the spring of this inaugural school year, Father Charlie hosted the first golf tournament fundraiser. Each year since that time, this event has been a primary resource for the funding of scholarships for students in need. In 2009, we raised about $50,000. In fact, we have raised $800,000 during the twelve consecutive years that this event has taken place. One hundred percent of these funds provided scholarships to students demonstrating financial need. Father Charlie's ACA Classic: Mission Father Charlie’s ACA Classic is driven by fundamental goals. Our primary goal is to raise scholarship funds for ACA students from families who demonstrate financial need. Some additional goals driving this event are: - To raise awareness about ACA and its mission;
- To provide networking opportunities for businesses and individuals who sponsor and participate in this event; and
- To develop a sense of fellowship and community among event participants and patrons, ACA families, parishioners, and the community at large, and to perpetuate involvement in this and other Annunciation Catholic Church events.
Annunciation Catholic Academy Scholarships Scholarships provide tuition assistance for approximately 10% of the student population at Annunciation Catholic Academy. These students would not be able to attend the Academy without this crucial aid. Father Charlie’s ACA Classic is one of two annual events that raise money for scholarships. From time to time, additional donations are received from generous benefactors. But the primary source of scholarship funding is charitable events such as Father Charlie’s ACA Classic. Why Annunciation Catholic Academy? Values. At ACA, our children derive more than an academic curriculum: they learn to be good and decent human beings. ACA students actively engage in stewardship through service. They learn to be good citizens - and good Christians - by participating in many outreach programs. In so many ways, our students learn to reach higher, to look deeper, and to act kinder. Academics. Every child deserves an outstanding education. ACA was named a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence by the U.S. Department of Education. ACA consistently ranks in the top 10% in the nation for students’ standardized test scores. Our students have gone on to outstanding post-secondary schools such as Harvard University and the University of Notre Dame. The Academy provides top notch academics in a state-of-the-art technological environment. Outstanding fine arts, foreign language, athletic programs, and extra-curricular organizations round out this exceptional school experience.
It is the philosophy of Annunciation Catholic Academy that every child is equally deserving of this level of excellence in education – regardless of a family’s financial status. Scholarships open the door of possibility to students in need. And scholarships are made possible, in large part, by you through Father Charlie’s ACA Classic.
